Developed in collaboration with Westside Barbell, the ROGUE CB-4 38mm Cambered Bar debuted at the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic as the "Double T" Bar (named after the late Dr. Terry Todd).
The aim of this design was to create a curved/bowed specialty bar that would be suitable for athletes of all sizes and ability levels, not just the world's best powerlifters and strongmen.
To do this, we started with a series of prototypes that varied in diameter, curvature and knurling patterns, and sent them all to the most uncompromising focus group in the iron game: the athletes at Westside Barbell Gym.
Their extensive testing and direct feedback helped us determine the standard that would best deliver all the benefits we were looking for.
Purpose of development : 1. A bar that reduces strain on the shoulders and elbows, allowing athletes with flexibility issues or injuries to continue heavy squats.
2. This bar allows you to spread your arms wider than a typical barbell, and can accommodate the physiques of even the strongest athletes used in competitions and home training.
3. A bar that allows the athlete to increase their range of motion on the bench while not putting undue stress on the shoulders or elbows.
4. A bar that allows athletes to build strength with less weight. Specifically, by ensuring an optimal drop between the center of the bar and the sleeves, athletes will keep their hips engaged when squatting, resulting in a greater stimulus than if they were doing the same weight with a straight bar.
A bar that will not bend even with heavy loads of over 5,900 lbs, reducing safety risks.
The CB-4 Camber Bar is a 60LB (27.2kg), 38MM curved power bar with a 4.4" (11.2cm) drop and a wide 55" (139.7cm) bend, allowing athletes of all sizes to find the curve point that suits them. In addition, the wide distance between the sleeves means that the camber part of the bar will not invert and fall down on most racks.
The CB-4's 95" shaft is machined in our Columbus factory, features a power bar knurl, is precision bent by our local partner, and finished with a black Cerakote coating for superior corrosion resistance and a secure grip. The rotating sleeves are friction welded and machined in-house with a proprietary matte black finish. Every assembled bar is individually tested and graded for quality before shipping, including ensuring that each sleeve angle is straight within a +0.5 degree/-0.0 degree tolerance.
